Cadre Theme
"Immigration-A Journey to a Dream"
The Year 1 Theme was "Kentucky: Our Place in American History." The Year 2 Theme-"Immigration: Journey to a Dream" gives teachers the opportunity to focus on a specific topic following the development of the diverse society called America. America has been called a "melting pot" of cultures where a rich tapestry of beliefs, values, and traditions has been woven throughout our country's history. This year's theme will review the many struggles and triumphs of the people who came to our country in search of the American dream and the freedom for which it stands.
TAHOE Plus teachers are a blend of elementary, middle, and high school teachers who will review the many facets of immigration from the time of exploration by the Spanish, French, and English to the present day issues related to immigration laws. The teachers will be provided many professional development opportunities that can assist them in developing a unit of study to be used with students.
