The resources you post such as your Faculty Vitae is also one source of documentation for NCATE Standard 5. If your vita needs updating or you need to post a vita, come learn everything you need to do to complete this task. You can also create a Web page to use with your students, etc. Explore examples, brainstorm ideas and begin the creation process. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Microworlds Ex Robotics
Dr. Tom Lough acquired a site license for MicroWorlds, a programmable multimedia environment developed especially for education. Based on the powerful but easy-to-use Logo computer language, MicroWorlds includes resources for text, graphics, animations, background processes, web site links, audio, video, and robotic control, as well as interactions among them. For example, you could develop a "powerpoint-like" series of pages for a presentation that includes dynamic text, hyperlinked graphics, animations, and a video clip. The animations could trigger audio clips or other multimedia events. (MicroWorlds can be installed and used on your faculty laptopl.) Dr. Lough will present an introductory workshop using MicroWorlds EX Robotics, the most recent release, and will include an overview of these capabilities and how to use the powerful onboard tutorial resource to learn even more.
