Early Childhood and Elementary Education (ECE)
The Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education (ECE) offers programs leading to the associate degree in child development, or the baccalaureate degree in interdisciplinary early childhood education (birth to 5 years), or elementary education (primary through grade 5). A non-degree Child Development Associate Credential program is also offered.
Graduate programs are offered in interdisciplinary early childhood education, elementary education, library media, and reading and writing. The department encourages students to seek the Master of Arts or Master of Science in Education and the Education Specialist degrees. However, non-degree programs for Kentucky include 5th Year (Rank II) and +30 Hours Above the Masters (Rank I).
Programs are offered at Murray State University and at regional sites in Henderson, Hopkinsville, Madisonville and Paducah.
