WKEEC
The West Kentucky Environmental Education Consortium (WKEEC) is CEE’s educator network for the sharing of environmental education information, ideas, and resources for use throughout the curriculum. Currently, ten west Kentucky school districts are members of the WKEEC: Calloway County, Christian County, Graves County, Fulton County, Livingston County, Lyon County, Marshall County, McCracken County, Murray Independent, and Trigg County.
WKEEC members have access to educational materials and instructional elements for enhancing curricula and offering alternative teaching methods. The CEE has a vast amount of materials available for teachers and students, ranging from books and multimedia library items to activity-specific supplies housed in our library. You name it, we have it; just ask!
In addition to materials, CEE provides outreach to WKEEC member schools in order to support teachers through modeling of our materials and environmental education in general. CEE staff members are also available to assist with events, programs, and workshops relating to environmental education. If you have a special event or workshop coming up and need help, do not hesitate to call us. Assistance is open to everyone; however, WKEEC members receive priority.
As an added feature, the CEE provides a quarterly newsletter detailing what is going on in the field of environmental education as well as what new materials we have to offer members. Our library features a new curriculum unit (complete with books, videos, and activity ideas) every month that is also highlighted in our newsletter. This provides another way to maintain a close environmental education network for sharing information with and amongst our members.
How can you join?
Membership is $200 per school district plus $ .10 for each K-12 pupil. This is a minimal fee for the amount of materials available to schools and teachers. The membership fee if valid for one year.
